Chalet Chef - Seasonal - Zermatt, Switzerland

We have a rare opportunity to join one of the most exclusive ski chalet operators in Europe, with the chance for you to work in an award winning chalet. With the opportunity to be living and working in Zermatt, a beautiful ski resort with unrivalled views of the famous Matterhorn, this is an job not to be missed!

Responsibilities
  • Menu design and planning
  • Placing of food and beverage orders; shopping
  • Preparation and service of breakfast, afternoon tea, canapés and up to 8 course evening meals
  • Catering for all client special dietary requirements
  • Catering for all requests for special occasions
  • Catering for children (including early meals when required)
  • Food hygiene and general health and safety in the kitchen and dining areas
  • Assist with the management of chalet food and beverage budgets
  • Assisting with the maintenance of all kitchen facilities and equipment
  • Food styling for publications and publicity (in conjunction with the Management Team)

  • Self-motivated & self-sufficient

  • Organised with good time management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Recognised catering qualification or extensive experience
  • Previous hospitality or customer service experience
  • Previous private Chef experience in the luxury sector (private household, yachting or similar)
  • Previous five-star hotel experience (preferred)
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Fluent English with conversational French and German (preferred)
Package
Salary: Depending on experience

Transport to the village at the start of contract, and return to a location within Europe at the end of the season, following completion of your contract

Full area winter season ski pass

Local work permit

Highly subsidised rent

Season ski equipment rental (skis/snowboard + boots)

Subsidised compulsory private health insurance

Uniform

Additional “13th month” bonuses in December and at the end of contract, as per the Swiss system
