Chalet Cook/Chef - Seasonal - Morzine, France

This client is looking for dynamic up and coming chefs with a zest for the mountains and incredible Alpine cuisine. The role is paired back with help from local patisseries, to give you time to create fantastic and inspiring evening meals. Professional interpersonal skills are a must as you will be working in an open kitchen. The season runs from December to April. EU passport or Carte du Sejour required.

Responsibilities
  • Working with our team, plan balanced, varied and creative menus for breakfasts and dinners, which are tailored to specific guest requests; Also prepare staff meals as required
  • Work within an allocated budget and submit weekly menu plans and spend reports
  • Support the Front of House teams as required and always take the lead in ensuring the kitchen is presented to high standards of cleanliness at all times
  • Maintain high levels of food hygiene during all preparation and service tasks, completing HACCP records as required
Ideal Candidate
  • Prepared to work in an open kitchen, be observed by guests and demonstrate your passion for food on a daily basis
  • EU candidates only
  • Candidates must have done a previous season in a cooking role (this can be a chalet host role in which they were required to cook)
  • Must have professional cheffing experience, either in private dining or in a restaurant with a good understanding of fine dining
  • A real passion for food, hosting dinner parties and the ski industry
  • Flexibility – able to cope well with varied and changing tasks and environments
  • Adaptability – able to adapt menus to guest’s requirements (including a dietary requirements) and listen to guest preferences
  • Excellent verbal communication (fluency in English is essential) and well presented with an eye for detail
  • Organised with respect to reporting and accounting (e.g fridge temperatures and budgets)
