Sous Chef - Permanent - Channel Islands, UK

We're looking for a Sous Chef for a popular hotel-restaurant on the Channel Islands. This is a great opportunity to work with a close-nit team, working in a place with a really strong community feel. We are looking for a great natural cook with an awareness and a repertoire that would translate to a quality island pub, have an ability to demonstrate financial kitchen awareness, have high standards of hygiene and organisation, be self-motivated and have the maturity and patience to assist in the growth and continuous development of the menu and pub as a whole.

Responsibilities
  • Supervising all kitchen stations and team members
  • Supporting and motivating kitchen staff of all levels
  • Being responsible for health and safety and food hygiene practices
  • Ensuring food quality and high standards are maintained for all dishes
  • Cooking and preparing high-quality dishes
  • Take the role of the Head Chef in their absence and/or when needed
Ideal Candidate
  • A great work ethic
  • Positive attitude
  • Passion for great food
  • 1-2 years in a reputable restaurant, bistro or gastro pub
  • UK passport
Package
Salary: £27,300

Start date: 20th October

5 days per week - shift pattern

Shared accommodation provided

Travel to the island from the UK

Food available when on duty

Tips shared equally between the team

Staff discounts at their properties
