Sous Chef - Seasonal - Tignes, France

We are looking for a Sous Chef to help run the kitchen in a busy Ski Academy in Tignes in the French Alps, to be assisted an experienced Head Chef and Head of Nutrition. It's an opportunity to combine your passion for food and the unique experience of working with living in the French Alps. Whether you are looking for a new kind of challenge or a career in the sports nutrition industry, this fantastic role allows you to use and develop your professional skills in a unique environment.

Responsibilities
  • Delivery of 3 meals a day for up to 70 people + take-away snacks and afternoon snacks
  • Occasional catering of meetings and corporate events
  • Appropriate delivery of catering for external organisations who rent the academy when athletes are not in residence
  • Deputising for Head Chef where required
  • Adhering to regulatory requirements – storing, preparing and delivery of food
  • Liaise with Head Chef, athletes and staff for feedback on menus with consistent desire to improve and work on meeting the nutritional needs of growing athletes
Ideal Candidate
  • Flexibility – the weather and location can be a challenge so there are constant changes in athlete and staff movements
  • Commitment to high standards in your work and output
  • Communication skills are essential for liaising with your catering team, the athletes and the wider team
  • Ability to work long hours at certain times of the year
  • Fluent English essential and French language skills would be advantageous
  • Prior relevant experience in delivery of set menus for large groups
  • Sense of fun, desire to be an ambassador for the academy and a real team spirit
Package
Salary: Negotiable depending on experience

UK contract or self-employed
